Chilled Iron Grit

Chilled iron is a hard and brittle abrasive primarily used for etching and aggressive surface preparation. Due to its low impact resistance, the material fractures during blasting, generating sharp angular particles that provide strong cleaning action and effective surface roughening. It is commonly used in blast rooms for fast cleaning applications. However, chilled iron is generally not recommended for wheel blast machines, as its brittleness can lead to accelerated wear of machine components.
